Exciting Developments Await: Construction of a New Windsor Gate Community Set to Begin
In a significant stride towards enhancing Windsor’s residential landscape, Crest Nicholson is gearing up to break ground on its new development, Windsor Gate. The Royal Borough granted planning approval in October, greenlighting the creation of 135 homes within this expansive 13-acre site, with a notable emphasis on affordability—54 of the homes falling under this category.
The groundbreaking work is scheduled to commence in January 2024, with the first completions anticipated by July 2024. Setting a sustainable standard, each of the 117 homes will feature air source heat pumps, while the 18 apartments will utilize hot water heat pumps and electric panel heaters.
Beyond the residences, Windsor Gate is poised to become a thriving community space, boasting open areas that include community allotments, a wildflower meadow, three play zones, and additional informal play spaces. A commitment to wildlife conservation and biodiversity is evident in the inclusion of 50 bat bricks, 50 swift bricks integrated into apartment buildings and homes, hedgehog highways, 10 bee homes, tree planting initiatives, and nature-based drainage features seamlessly woven throughout the development.
