Windsor & Eton Riverside Introduces Contactless Pay-As-You-Go System

Commuters will soon have the convenience of using a contactless pay-as-you-go system at three railway stations in the area.

Starting Sunday, September 22, pay-as-you-go with contactless will be available at 12 additional South Western Railway (SWR) suburban stations, including Windsor & Eton Riverside, Datchet, and Wraysbury.

This expanded service will allow customers to travel seamlessly between these stations, as well as across the London Underground, DLR, Tramlink, National Rail, and London Buses—wherever contactless payments are accepted.

Commuters will no longer need to queue for tickets, purchase in advance, or top-up before their journey. With the new system, they can simply touch in and out using a valid contactless card or device.

In addition to Windsor & Eton Riverside, Datchet, and Wraysbury, other stations introducing pay-as-you-go with contactless include Egham, Ashford (Surrey), Kempton Park, Staines, Shepperton, Sunbury, Sunnymeads, Virginia Water, and Upper Halliford.
