Step away from your screens, grab a frying pan, and get ready to flip your way into the most thrilling pancake event of the season in Windsor!

The 2024 Windsor, Eton, and Ascot Town Partnership Charity Pancake Race is set to ignite the streets on Shrove Tuesday (13 February), as businesses gear up to compete in a pancake-flipping relay at Windsor Royal Station.

Exclusively for businesses, two-person teams will assemble at 10:20 am in Windsor, poised to sprint along a 50-meter course, expertly tossing their pancakes three times each as they vie for glory and the coveted shiny trophy.

In the true spirit of the occasion, teams are urged to embrace the traditional pancake racing attire—complete with a skirt, apron, and headscarf. And, of course, a frying pan in hand (with no concessions for male participants!). To add an extra layer of fun, a prize awaits the best-dressed team.

Organized by the Windsor, Eton, and Ascot Town Partnership in collaboration with Windsor Royal Station, the race aims to raise funds for two worthy causes: the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice and the Windsor and Eton Christmas Lights Appeal. With an entry fee of just £20 per team, businesses are also encouraged to contribute more if they wish, supporting the local community in the process. Teams can sign up online, so lace up your running shoes, dust off that pancake-flipping technique, and join the sprint for a good cause.

But that’s not all—adding an extra layer of fun to the festivities, there will be a special Mascot-only race. Imagine mascots from your favorite businesses flipping pancakes with fervor—now that’s a sight you wouldn’t want to miss!

Sue Watts from Windsor Royal Shopping Centre expressed her enthusiasm, saying, ‘We are hoping that many more companies will take up the challenge and make this a real fun business community event. So come on everyone—get in training and show us eggsactly what you’re made of!’
